Expansion of leisure fishery facilities
The Problem
The owners of an existing leisure fishery wanted to provide additional facilities to service the needs of their current customers, attract new ones and improve dwell time by erecting a building that would provide changing facilities, a shop and a café. They achieved planning permission to put up such a facility but the capital cost was to be in the region of £600,000. This financing requirement was beyond the capability of the existing business.
The Solution
As this was a farm diversification on a farm holding, we looked at securing 40% grant funding from the Rural Development Programme for England to part finance the venture so the project could be delivered.
The Result
The leisure fishery secured a £253,000 grant to enable it to build its fisheries centre.
The Cost
We charged 10% of the grant achieved.
