The Scenario

A farming estate in the Cotswolds with a substantial commercial grain processing operation was looking at solar photovoltaic as an opportunity to reduce their ongoing electricity costs.

The Solution

Following analysis of the electricity usage we came forward with a recommendation of a 250kW solar PV install.  We investigated the appropriateness of roof mounted but selected ground mounted due to concerns on weather proofing and grain deterioration.  We project managed the installation, liaising with the installers through to grid connection, submitted the Feed-in-Tariff applications and placed the export electricity.

The Result

The Estate achieved a substantial reduction in electricity at a competitive installation cost and a return of over 12% on their investment.

The Cost

We charged 7.5% of the total installation cost to carry out the project management.
